Music of the Storm: Beethoven’s “Kreutzer” Sonata
Saturday, June 1, 2019 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
The Dancewicz-Doucet Duo. Photo by Mark Chen

Join The Dancewicz-Doucet Duo (Dominika Dancewicz, violin and Donald Doucet, piano), as they close their exciting and very busy concert season on Saturday June 1, at the University of St. Thomas Cullen Hall! The program will feature incredible music that foresees the Romantic era breaking out of the Classical rationale. You will hear Franz Schubert's gorgeous Duo in A Major, and the famous “Kreutzer” Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. The latter piece has a special place in music history and culture: the darkness of its tumultuous first movement is so powerful, that it was even featured in Leo Tolstoy's novella! The Duo will also include music from outside the pre-Classical period - one of Astor Piazzolla’s gorgeous tangos, known for their hyper emotional expression. This concert is not to be missed!
