When you study Biology or Bioinformatics at UST, you conduct research with professors, not teaching assistants. The one-on-one attention, advising opportunities and access to the Texas Medical Center have prepared UST alumni for successful careers.

Just minutes from the world's largest medical center district, UST's school of nursing BSN program in Houston teaches you how to treat the whole human person – preparing you for initial RN licensure and entry into the workforce. Many UST alumni are now employed as nurses.

But there are other STEM jobs that do not require an advanced degree. They include:

  • food science
  • research or pharmacy tech
  • analysts
  • science communication and journalism
  • oil and gas
  • environmental science

You also have access to the center's peer mentoring program. Peer mentors hold regular sessions for test review, one-on-one help and study skills with subjects including biology, chemistry, math, physics and engineering.
