School of Theology at St. Mary’s SeminaryThe School of Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary provides a theological education supported by the Magisterial teachings of the church. Our faculty are active in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and seek to enhance your understanding of the church’s teaching in the core theological disciplines (Scripture, Systematic Theology, Church History, Moral Theology, Sacramental Theology) so you can present it to others as you serve the church and the people of God.

The degrees and certificates we offer cater to students seeking ordination as well as those who wish to serve in the lay ministry. Most attend part-time and class schedules are flexible. We’ve had students complete their degree in as little as two years, but there is no time limit.

Outcomes data is reviewed annually to help evaluate the effectiveness of each course and placement of graduates is monitored to ensure your training is consistent with the needs of our client dioceses.
