Orientation
New Student Orientation
Your transition into the University of St. Thomas begins at Orientation!
During New Student Orientation, you and your family get to know the St. Thomas campus community, our programs, other students and their families.
Most importantly, at Orientation, you become a Celt.
Freshman Orientation
At UST’s Orientation, you will make your first UST friends, meet your professors, join clubs, and serve the Houston community. We require you to attend Orientation, but we make your time on campus fun and engaging. Find out more below!
If you are transferring into the University of St. Thomas, you get to choose the session that will best fit your needs. We offer two: one that is for busy transfer students who know the ropes, and one that is for students who prefer a traditional orientation. Register for the one that best suits you!
Save the Dates:
August 17th (One-Day Orientation)
August 19th - August 20th (Traditional Orientation)
Parents and Families - Welcome to the Celt Family! We are so excited to introduce you to the University of St. Thomas. We know the vital role you have played and will continue to play in your student’s life, and we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with you during your student’s time here.
Families have the option to attend one of our Family Celt ROAR Days with their incoming student throughout the summer. During Family Celt ROAR Day, you will learn about the resources available to your student outside of the classroom to help them reach graduation. Family Celt ROAR Days are the Thursday following your students Celt ROAR Day.
Not only is our goal to help your student succeed, we also want you to be a key figure in this success. This journey continues at the Family Welcome! At this social event, you will be able to connect with other parents, as well as faculty and staff who are here to help your student succeed. Additionally, we will have current students and alumni there to give you a taste of what the Celt Experience is all about.
Through communication such as our Parent & Family Newsletter, we hope to welcome you into our Family and give you and your student tools to succeed. If you are interested in receiving the newsletter, please sign up below.

Graduate Student Orientation
Each graduate program hosts their own orientation session to tailor information to their programs. If you are an incoming graduate student and have questions, reach out to your program to ask questions directly.
Welcome to the Celt Family! This event is a three hour program including a keynote speaker, a Q&A Panel with representatives across campus, and a social hour intended for you to meet a variety of faculty, staff, alumni, and current students. The families of new students are invited to attend with a maximum of 2 attendees per student. While we love your students as you do, we ask for parents and relatives only at this event.
