Clubs & Student Organizations

The University of St. Thomas features a number of student clubs and organizations that promote research, community service, and leadership skills among its members. Student clubs are registered with the Office of Student Activities through one of its chartering organizations. The following are undergraduate clubs chartered with the Council of Clubs.

Academic Clubs

Accounting Society

Accounting Society helps bridge the gap between academic and professional life through networking and social events with local businesses.

Computer Science Club

Computer Science Club seeks to educate and promote the application of Computer Science for the students of UST.

History Society

History Society is a club for students of history to promote historical scholarship, as well as to socialize and learn from each other and faculty through historical film screening and socials.

International Studies Society (ISS)

International Studies Society seeks to promote and celebrate different cultures through multicultural explorations, as well as to explore the career opportunities available in diplomatic and governmental service. ISS also hosts the annual International Festival.

Mathematics Clubs

The Mathematics Club promotes math appreciation and morale for STEM majors through engaging and applicable activties, such as Pi(e) Day.

Pax Christi Theology Society

Pax Christi allows students to practice in their lives, the theology taught in UST's classrooms.

Psi Chi - Psychology Clubs

The mission of Psi Chi is to produce a well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible member committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general.

Sigma Tau Delta - English Club

Sigma Tau Delta serves as a chapter of the National English Honors Society and promtoes the scholarship of English majors through open readings, writing feedback, and annual publications.

Cultural Clubs

Chinese Language and Culture Association (CLCA)

Chinese Language and Culture Association seeks to promote the study of the Chinese language and educate students about the Chinese culture.

Filipino Student Association (FSA)

The Filipino Student Association provides the University of St. Thomas student body and Houston community with an organization that celebrates diversity through the education about and sharing of the Filipino culture. FSA promotes its mission statement with cultural dance performances, social gatherings, tradition showcases, as well as attending camaraderie events in relevance to Filipino culture. FSA promotes the Filipino way of service through the adoption of a philanthropic effort and dedication to service.

Irish Culture Club

Irish Culture Club promotes Irish culture and language including a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, as a key part of the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies.


Japanese Culture Club (JCC)

The Japanese Culture Club seeks to promote Japanese language and culture.

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)

The League of United Latin American Citizens advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs.

Spanish Club

The purpose of the Spanish Club is to provide educational opportunities outside of the classroom for those interested in the Spanish language and culture. Spanish Clubs also provides the opportunity to meet with other UST students and faculty interested in speaking Spanish as well as international students.

Health & Sciences Clubs

American Chemical Society (ACS)

The American Chemical Society is an organization designed to help chemistry majors and minors explore the chemistry field and careers in the field by providing various resources. The resources includes, but are not limited to, help in connecting members to research professors, career fairs, speaker talks, outreach programs to promote interest in STEM carrers in young children, tutoring assistance in classes, and more.

American Student Dental Association (ASDA)

American Student Dental Association Pre-Dental Chapter at the University of St. Thomas is a student-led organization aiming to educate pre-dental students about the profession of dentistry and provide resources to support those interested in pursuing dentistry. Furthermore, the ASDA Pre-Dental Chapter aims to create leaders in the community through public service.

Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) National Biological Honor Society

Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) National Biological Honor Society is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is dedicated to helping people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care.

Health Occupations Students of America

The mission of Health Occupations Students of America is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.

Pre-Health Professions Society

Pre-Health Professions Society provides guidance for students interested in pre-health professional careers; provide information about other professions in the healthcare field; provide volunteering and shadowing opportunities.

National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers

The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers seeks to ensure that underrepresented minorities are presented the opportunites and resources to succeed in STEM fields.

National Student Nurses Association

The purpose of the University of St. Thomas National Student Nurses Association is to guide students in their journey to becoming holistic nurses by providing various healthcare related volunteer opportunities and resources that will allow them to give back to both the University and to the global community.

Alcohol Awareness Club seeks to provide students, faculty, and staff resources, support, and information about alcohol safety.


Celts for Life

Celts for Life serves as UST's pro-life group.

Debate Club (USTDC)

The principle purpose of the UST Debate Club (USTDC) is to develop the student body by improving its members in the areas of public speaking, analytical argumentation, and evidence based case writing and research. The USTDC is open to all styles of debate, and create understanding among its members through such debate.

Game Changers Society

The Game Changers Society provides students with career, educational, and networking opportunities to explore their interests and find their passions. Through this organization, members will learn entrepreneurial concepts and ideas that will enable them to be better employees, business owners, and leaders.

Interfaith Club

The mission of the Interfaith Club is to unify people of all races, ethnicities and religions; while doing community service projects for those who are in need within Houston.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations seeks to promote diplomacy and scholarship worldwide through diplomatic discourse simulated with the Model United Nations competition and conference.

Pursue Excellence and Cherish Everyone (PEACE)

While faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church and committed to the mission of UST, the purpose of Pursue Excellence and Cherish Everyone (PEACE) is to enhance the mandate of the Catholic Church to respect all human dignity and support the diverse community attending the University of St. Thomas by providing opportunities for leadership service, social engagement on campus, volunteering, and mutual support.

Society's Forgotten Children

Society's Forgotten Children seems to bring awareness of children of incarnated parents and at risk youth and to help raise scholarship funds for these children.

Super Celts Club

Super Celts is a health and wellness club, made to promote fitness at UST.
