SGA facilitates the expression and empowerment of student opinions across campus. It advocates for the Student Body through continuous interaction with students, faculty, staff and administration, doing all it can to enhance the quality of the student experience.
It’s made up of 3 branches:
The Legislative branch represents and create legislation on behalf of their respective classes. It contains 5 senators from each class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior).
The Executive branch maintains SGA’s day-to-day operations and executes legislation passed by the Senate. It includes a president, vice president and staff.
The Judicial branch oversees student elections on campus. It includes a chief justice, 3 associate undergraduate justices and 3 associate justices).

The Accounting Society is an educational, non-profit student organization established by faculty and students that serves as an advisory information source committed to bridging the gap between the academic and professional world.
Building ethics in society through leadership, service and integrity.
The vision of Business Ethics Society is to:
Enhances the academic, social and professional pursuits of students interested in business careers.
Provides a social space for production majors in the Communications department.

Produces annual magazine publishing student works and feature articles.
Publishes a student-produced literary magazine featuring the work of student writers, illustrators and photographers. Sponsored by the UST English department.
The voice and representation of the graduate student body, GSA represents and supports the interests of current and future UST graduate students by providing networking events and social opportunities for its members.
Promotes a sense of community through historical discovery, providing opportunities to:
ISS seeks to promote and celebrate different cultures and career opportunities available in diplomatic and governmental service. It provides members with a solid foundation for understanding world affairs or to develop a career in the international field.
ISS also hosts the University’s annual International Festival.
Creates a forum for philosophical discussion outside the classroom among students and professors, helping to enhance public speaking, debate and critical thinking skills.
Philosophy graduate students are given opportunities to present their work in front of peers for critical evaluation and further discussion.
Allows students to gather around philosophical topics discussed in the classroom.
The goal of UST MUN is to participate in Model United Nations conferences and/or competitions while educating members in leadership, research, writing, critical thinking, negotiation and public speaking.
AASU promotes awareness of African-American culture within the UST community, seeking to enhance the experiences of its members through social support and educational programs.
Membership is open to all students, without regard to race, sex or religion.
ACC is dedicated to:
The goal of ALPFA is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy. Members are encouraged to be creative, innovative and lead with a purpose and meaning.
Shares information and resources among students and faculty interested in bilingual/bicultural education, linking the bilingual community to UST’s School of Education and Human Services.
BSA offers a social environment for Brazilian and non-Brazilian students at UST who are interested in the Brazilian culture.
BLA pursues the promotion of Hispanic and Latin-American values but is not restricted to Latin-Hispanic heritage.
It enhances the academic experience by promoting networking between students, Houston businesses and the Houston community
It also works closely with NSHMBA Houston, a national organization with dozens of chapters across the country promoting Hispanic leadership, education and professional development.
Promotes the study of the Chinese language and educates UST students about Chinese culture.
Works to raise awareness and educate others on the intricacies of the Deaf Culture as well as American Sign Language. In doing so, members seek to become integrated within the Deaf community in Houston and to extend the Word and love of God to all of his children.
FSA celebrates diversity by sharing the Filipino culture and helping members to be social with all cultures. It promotes this through:

Promotes the understanding, study and appreciation of the French language and culture, and its impact in the global community. It’s a relaxed environment where members can practice speaking French and/or develop French language skills.
Assists international students with transition to life at UST and in Houston. Open to all students.
Promotes the culture and heritage of Ireland through various activities and events including a St. Patrick’s Day celebration sponsored by the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies.
The Japanese Culture Club allows its members to develop intellectually, socially, and culturally by broadening their understanding about the Japanese culture and customs, while fostering cross-cultural respect and understanding.
LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of Hispanic-Americans through community-based programs.
Offers the opportunity to gather with other UST students and faculty interested in speaking Spanish, as well as international students.
The club also provides educational opportunities outside the classroom for those interested in the Spanish language and culture.
VSA enlightens Vietnamese students and others in their journey to discover and learn the history, culture and traditions of Vietnam.

Student-led ministry that takes its name from the teachings of St. Pope John Paul II on issues of life, love, and sexuality. It aims to create a campus culture at UST that promotes the dignity of the human person and the true freedom of sexual integrity.

Membership is open to graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and whose semester average has been 3.3 for at least five semesters of full-time study at UST.
