Dr. Birgit Mellis has over 20 years of teaching and research experience, both in Germany and in the United States. She holds a master’s degree in Condensed Matter Physics and a Dr.rer.nat. (PhD) in Materials Science. Her research expertise lies in the fields of nanomaterials, photonic crystals and low temperature physics. Dr. Mellis is the founding Chair of the Department of Physics and Engineering. Dr. Mellis can speak on engineering and physics in general, nanomaterials, photonic crystals, and superconductors.
