Dr. Terese Verklan is certified as a high-risk neonatal nurse by the Nursing Certification Center and as a certified clinical nurse specialist by the Association of Critical Care Nurses Certification Corporation. Her research interests are the autonomic nervous system and physiologic variability in the low- and high-risk fetus and neonate. She is a reviewer for the journals of Journal of Hospital Administration, Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing, Nursing Research, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing and Neonatal Network. She is an editorial board member for the Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences and a Contributing Editor for the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing. She is the senior editor for a text used internationally for the care of high-risk neonates, "Core Curriculum for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing". I have been a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing since 2010.
