Dr. Deborah Klesel is trained in critical care. She held nursing leadership positions in acute care settings in the hospital and private sectors. Her nursing educations experience includes pathophysiology, medical surgical care, behavioral health, leadership, research, and end of life transition. She was part of the NOEP training program at MD Anderson for two years. She volunteered in research funded by the Stanzel foundation predicting diabetes children in rural areas of Texas, age 6 to 16, measuring growth and development indicators annually. She serves on the advisory board for the Live Oak Museum in Columbus, Texas. Her research is in breast cancer survivorship and ambient air pollution and cancer neogenesis. Current research interests include guiding students through nursing school using a paradigm shift using intentional devotion and goodness during bedside care. Dr. Klesel participates in the Missions Formation for the University of St. Thomas and is a member of the Tenure and Promotion committee task force.
