Dr. Tera Jean Torres, assistant professor in the School of Education and Human Services, spearheaded the first conference for educational diagnosticians that was organized and led by members of the field. The conference was held at the University of St. Thomas on Jan. 24 to 25 and had more than 200 attendees, including participants from Okla., La. and N.M.
|Houston Artist GONZO247 Signs on to Paint New Campus Mural|
In keeping with its ongoing “Be Your Bold Self” campaign, the University of St. Thomas has commissioned local graffiti artist Mario Figueroa Jr., better known by his artistic name GONZO247, to paint the first permanent mural on campus. The mural will be located on the side of Crooker Center, facing the Campus Life Mall.

The University of St. Thomas’s spring 2018 production of “Pride and Prejudice” was announced Best Houston Play of 2018 by Broadway World Houston.

Irish America magazine honored William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies Advisory Board member J. Patrick Herlihy, MD, at the Annual Healthcare & Life Sciences 50 on Friday, Nov. 2. According to the website, the Annual Healthcare & Life Sciences 50 “recognizes the excellence, performance, and extraordinary contributions of Irish-American and Irish-born leaders in fields including medical care, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, research and development, and life sciences venture capital.”
