Can I use a mail client such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird to check my email? Yes. However, due to the number of available clients and their differences, the IT Help Desk cannot officially provide support for all configurations. Can I check my UST email from my iPhone, Android Device, Tablets or other mobile device? Yes. However, due to the number of available devices and their differences, the IT Help Desk cannot officially provide support for all configurations. I cannot access my email and/or send and receive email. What do I do? How do I access Webmail? At the top of this page click on Login and select Webmail from the dropdown list. How much disk space am I allocated with my UST email account? Each student account has a limit of 100MB of disk space. Faculty using Webmail have a limit of 100MB of disk space. When your limit is exceeded, you will be warned by the system, and if you do not reduce the size of your account within a few days, all mail to your account will be stopped and returned to the senders. To check how much space you are using, login to Webmail, click on Options and your mailbox disk quota will be at the bottom of the page. Do messages in folders other than my Inbox count toward my quota? Yes. All messages in all folders count toward your quota—including those in the Sent and Spam folders. Why is my mailbox over quota? Some reasons that your mailbox could be over quota include: - There are too many emails stored in your mailbox.
Solution: Delete any email that is not needed. Remember, messages in other folders count toward your quota as well as those in your Inbox. - There are many messages with attachments in your mailbox.
Solution: Download the attachments to your computer, then delete the messages with the attachments. How do I check my disk quota? After you login to Webmail, click on Options. Your mailbox disk quota will be at the bottom of the page. I deleted a lot of my email, but I still have a high amount or have exceeded the disk quota. Is there a problem, or am I supposed to delete more files? Check your trash folder to verify that your email has been deleted. If there are emails in your trash folder, delete the email from this folder. To set your preferences so that your deleted email is removed from your trash folder automatically after you log out, go to Options, click on Settings and then check the option, "Empty folder on logout." How do I setup a vacation message? - Log into Webmail.
- Click Options.
- Under Mail and Local Account, select Vacation Message on the left- side bar.
- Check the Enable auto-reply box, and fill in the information on the form.
- Click the Save Preferences button at the bottom of the page.
Can I forward my UST email to my private mailbox? Yes. Instructions for how to forward your email can be found below. - Log into Webmail.
- Click Options on the tool bar.
- Select Local Account on the left-side bar, and then Forwarding.
- Enter the address you would like to forward your messages to in the Forward to: box. Multiple addresses can be entered, separated by commas or pressing Enter.
- If you do not want to leave a copy of your email messages on the UST mail server, uncheck the Keep a copy of the message checkbox (Optional).
- Click the Save Preferences button at the bottom of the page.
