UST Prepares Students for Pharmacy School
Tam Nguyen is one of 14 UST pre-pharmacy students who have successfully matriculated into pharmacy schools throughout Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma over the last five years. St. Thomas has become a popular college destination for Vietnamese-American students who are looking for a university with small classes that embraces diversity and offers strong pre-health programs.
UST Hosts Herzstein Concert, Lecture in Judaism
The University of St. Thomas will host a two-day event celebrating the music and heritage of Judaism. The Herzstein Concert of Jewish Music and the Annual Herzstein Lecture in Judaism on Sept. 18 and 19.
Miller Lecture Explores Theology of the Body

Dr. Michael Waldstein will present the annual Archbishop J. Michael Miller Lecture, “Overcoming the Mechanization of Nature: John Paul II’s Theology of the Body,” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 29 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum.

CNN Vatican Analyst Discusses Religious Freedom

John. L. Allen Jr., senior correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and senior Vatican analyst for CNN, will give the annual University of St. Thomas Center for Faith and Culture Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Lecture at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum. Allen’s lecture will explore, “Religious Freedom: Its Roots in Catholic Thought and its Place in Vatican Diplomacy.”

Jennifer Amelang Named Top Young Environmentalist

Jennifer Amelang, a senior Environmental Studies major, was selected as one of the nation’s top rising young leaders in the clean energy sector by the national organization Focus the Nation. She is one of only 20 students from across the country who were selected for their dedication, passion and unique contribution to increase awareness of clean energy solutions in America.
