International Studies Society

International Studies Society OfficersThe International Studies Society (ISS) is a student-led organization dedicated to enriching the community through academic, cultural and social events throughout the year. All students of the Center for International Studies are considered members of ISS and any student interested in international affairs is also welcome to participate.

ISS produces a number of programs throughout the year, including film festivals, documentary series, international festival and the Friday lecture series. Participants develop leadership and planning skills; build early professional and service networks; and are exposed firsthand to leading business, government and nonprofit decision-makers.

Model UN Club

Model UN ConferenceThe University of St. Thomas Model United Nations (MUN Club) is a student organization that promotes diplomacy and learning through participation in Model United Nations Conferences. Model United Nations Conferences simulate United Nations committee sessions, during which students represent countries on a number of international issues. In preparing for these conferences, Model UN Club members learn the finer points of researching their assigned country, writing, problem solving, negotiation and public speaking.

As a student-driven organization, UST MUN helps members grow not only as diplomats but also as student leaders through arranging conference logistics and fundraising activities.

International Studies prepares students for careers in international business, law, politics and public service.
