Taiwan & East Asia Studies Program

Taiwan & East Asia Studies Program
Gain a deeper understanding of the countries and cultures in the critical region of East Asia.  The federal government has identified the region as one of critical importance to the future of the United States’ national interest and security. China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are among America’s top ten trade partners, twenty-five largest economies, top fifteen strongest militaries, and central actors to regional peace and stability.Further develop and apply intercultural skills through studies abroad and extra-curricular activities.  Build a transcript and résumé that demonstrate your readiness to engage with the people, governments, and businesses in and from East Asia.

The Taiwan & East Asia Studies Program (EASP) provides undergraduate and graduate students with the following academic, extra-curricular, and scholarship opportunities:

  • Study East Asian culture, history, foreign affairs, and politics
  • Study Japanese and Mandarin languages
  • Study abroad in East Asia
  • Scholarships for language and study abroad
  • Regular speaker and conference events
