Educator Preparation Program (EPP)

We are the University of St. Thomas, the Catholic University in the heart of Houston. We are committed to the Catholic intellectual tradition and the dialogue between faith and reason. By pursuing excellence in teaching, scholarship and service, we embody and instill in our students the core values of our founders, the Basilian Fathers: goodness, discipline and knowledge.

We foster engagement in a diverse, collaborative community. As a comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts, we educate students to think critically, communicate effectively, succeed professionally and lead ethically.

The School of Education and Human Services strives to meet UST’s mission of creating leaders of faith and character through a process of critical self-inquiry. Each year we post data for public review related to satisfaction of completers, employers, passing rates for licensing, and other information related to the ability of the school to meet rigorous standards.

Not admitting new candidates: The School of Education and Human Services will not be accepting new candidates for certification, category, class, or route while we work to implement a continuous improvement model that will align with all standards particular to Texas Education Agency curriculum guidelines, policies, and procedures. Our intention is to ensure that we are offering programs of the highest quality and will provide information as we move through the process.
